Journey Through The Solar System
Tour Information
A musical, vibrational and colour journey through our solar system with 18 Paiste Planet Gongs, Quartz Crystal Bowls and Vibraphone.
Planet Gongs are tuned to the natural harmonic series based on the orbital properties of the Earth, Moon, Sun and Planets. All of these gongs resonate in harmony with the celestial bodies and communicate a distinct aspect of the Music of the Spheres, which was first written about by Pythagoras in the 6th Century BC. Each planet gong contributes a vital pitch to the total harmonic resonance of our solar system.
This tour will take place during a full lunar cycle with 17 dates in Ontario; the final show will be in Toronto at CBC Glenn Gould Studio on Thursday, November 13th during the full moon.
What You Can Expect
The shows will take place in two 40 to 50 minute sets simulating the travel through the solar system. The stage set up is arranged so that the bowls which have sharp notes are with the gongs that have sharp notes and naturally the whole note bowls are with the whole note gongs. Read more about the gongs. We invite you to take a seat or lay down as close to the instruments as possible to get the greatest effect. Remember to bring a yoga matt or blanket to lay down on as most venues will have some floor space. Chairs for regular seating are also available.
We have two videos available for you to experience a sort of preview of the instrumentation for the tour. Nothing compares to the experience live, but we thought this would help give you an idea. Visit the first tour preview then the second preview of the tour.
The New CD
 This is by far my most important and reveling music yet. The CD will be officially released on Tuesday, Oct 14th at the first show of the fall tour in Hamilton and will be available online or at your local performances after that. This CD is completely green, 100% Recycled Cardboard Eco-Sleeve, Eco-friendly DigiPak™ trays, Bio-degradable overwrap, Vegetable-based inks.
How To Get Tickets
Most of the shows tickets can be purchased online using your credit card or paypal. Some tickets for venues like Glenn Gould are availble at their own online box office. As always, you can purchase tickets at the door but we have a limited amount of seating available at these venues so get your tickets early. Please print out and keep your email reciept of your ticket(s) as this will make it easier to find your name at the venue(s) you are attending. Where possible we encourage you to share rides and car pool. It not only saves gas but helps to reduce our carbon foot print on the earth and traffic.
